Porcelain worlds on the "Leuchtenburg"
An exciting change between old and new awaits visitors of the Leuchtenburg, where the Middle Ages meet porcelain. Not only can you explore a castle complex that has grown over 800 years, but you can also discover the fascinating world of porcelain. The exhibition concept captivates with its show far removed from the museum character. The visitor marvels at Chambers of Wonders, experiments in an alchemist's kitchen, takes a seat at a princely table or dares to go on a 20-meter-long skywalk in order to shatter the porcelain of his dreams in the depths, because: "Shards bring luck"! Equipped with two elevators and new pavement, the new exhibitions and large parts of the castle complex are barrier-free and suitable for wheelchair users with companions.

All areas relevant for testing meet the quality criteria of the label "Accessibility certified - partially accessible for people with walking disabilities".

- There are three parking spaces for people with disabilities (parking space size: 350 cm x 500 cm).
- The path from the parking spaace to the entrance is 300 m long. It is easy to walk and drive on and has a maximum longitudinal gradient of 7 % over a distance of 80 m.
- The building of the Porcelain worlds is steplessly accessible.
- All evaluated rooms and facilities available to the guests are stepless or accessible via elevators.
- The elevator cabins have a size of:
Elevator Porcelain Worlds 110 cm x 200 cm;
Elevator castle tavern 114 cm x 217 cm. - Almost all evaluated passageways/doors available to the guests are at least 85 cm wide.
- The counter at the entrance is 100 cm high at its lowest point. There is another, equivalent communication possibility while in a sitting position.
- The exhibits and the information on the exhibits are predominately visible while sitting.
- There are wheelchair accessible tables in the castle tavern and in the bistro at the information desk.
- Guided tours for people with walking impairments and wheelchair users are offered. A reservation in advance is necessary.
- Special trained guides ensure that people with walking impairments and wheelchair users can take part in any guided tour.
- Mobile or fixed seats are available for people with walking disabilities, which can be used during the guided tour.
- The entire route of the guided tour is steplessly accessible for wheelchair users.

Public toilet for people with disabilities (outdoors)
- The maneuvering spaces are:
in front of/behind the door, in front of the toilet;
in front of the washbasin 180 cm x 95 cm;
left of the toilet 83 cm x 70 cm and right of the toilet 93 cm x 70 cm. - There are handles which can be folded up on the right and left of the toilet.
- The washbasin is wheelchair accessible.
- An alarm trigger (cord) is present. When triggered, there is an optical signal.
Public toilet for people with disabilities (in the exhibition area)
- The maneuvering spaces are:
in front of/behind the door, in front of the toilet and in front of the washbasin at least 140 cm x 190 cm;
left and right of the toilet at least 90 cm x 70. - There are handles which can be folded up on the right and left of the toilet.
- The washbasin is wheelchair accessible.
- An alarm trigger (cord) is present. When triggered, there is an optical signal.
